Fatayi's story

Curiosity is what led Fatayi to join Next Step’s Wood Product Manufacturing program, a pilot training program offered in partnership with Lighthouse Academy in Grand Rapids, MI. According to Fatayi, the experience opened his eyes to the world of wood. Awed by the tools and grateful for the patience of his instructor Roger, he created a beautiful end table which later won 1st prize at an arts and crafts exhibition. After graduating from Next Step’s program, Fatayi returned to serve as an intern. More recently, Fatayi joined the Next Step team as Assistant Training Instructor, working alongside students and Lead Instructor Roger Visker.
I love the process of joining things together to make something new.
